After 6 telephone calls and a HelloPeter complaint about Discovery Card taking 4 weeks to process my application, supposed technical issues sending emails??? I eventually get the email stating which documents I must supply. Read the list and under proof of income you can supply IRP5, IT34 or last month payslip. Decided IRP5 as this was close to hand. Two days later get a call from Discovery saying they cannot accept the IRP5 as it is older than 6 months! Very confused, I tried to clarify the situation. If you only get one IRP5 in any given year how can it be invalid after 6 months?? Anyway, got tired of trying to reason with an automaton and asked what document would be valid. Last months payslip she says! Duly send off payslip. Two days later get a phone call from Discovery. Notice you get paid by the hour he says. Yes I say, is this a problem? Do you have a contract he says. Yes I say. 1 year signed in June this year.
Not acceptable he says. Can't give you a card if you haven't got a contract for twelve months. So I would effectively have to apply on the day I signed my contract to be eligable for a card. Six weeks of frustration. My advice. Try BEEP bank instead.
