Lack of commitment

I called the Virgin Money call centre today, to follow up on an overdue action on my account. The consultant refused to commit to giving me feedback today, saying maybe we'll call you today or maybe next week. This is not the kind of service I've become accustomed to with this Brand?
My request to escalate the issue was also refused.
