Virgin Mobile South Africa
PENALTY FOR NOTICE TO CANCEL ON EXPIRY

Dear Virgin Mobile

The above cell phone contract will be ending shortly. I would like to convert from the contract to prepaid for this line.

I tried calling your help line. today at 09h30. I spoke to a consultant who informed me that if he is to record or diarise my request for cancellation of the contract to be effected on the due date then I will be billed an additional R500.00 as it would be deemed as an early cancellation. If however I called back on 11 November 2013 then this charge will not be levied notwithstanding that the effective cancellation date would be the same.

Given that today is my third attempt to get through to someone in your cancellations department it does not seem likely that I will be successful on 11 November and no doubt if I can only get through on 12 November or later there will also be some sort of penalty.

This must be belaglik. Your consultant attempted to rationalise the logic for this. Unfortunately I could not listen to rubbish presented as logic. I asked to be transferred to his manager. The consultant refused to do this. I asked for the consultant's name. He refused to give me his name. I terminated my call.
