I found out yesterday that I received a default listing on my credit profile by First National bank regarding my old cheque account. On investigation, I was told by one of the call centre consultants that notice was posted to me, but they sent it to the wrong address?? After double checking one of my old statements - it seems that they do indeed have my correct billing address but still send notice to the incorrect address and have the nerve to list me for R 600? After a lady from Tableview branch contacted me yesterday to advise that there system automatically lists you on transunion if you owe them anything more than R 250.00. Well, according to Daisy at the Credit Ombudsman, a creditor must provide a consumer with written notice to either take legal action or list a consumer on the credit bureau. So I'm not sure that I understand how FNB's system automatically list a consumer without going through the correct channels. Not to mention that I changed banks due to poor service delivery from the Longbeach Mall branch. Myself and my husband were misinformed on two occasions by their consultants. I've been emailing P. Holland from FNB since yesterday, a response would be great!!
