I am not a standard bank customer nor have I ever been 1. a few minutes ago I received a phone call from one of standard banks debt collection agencies in regards to a debt that my farther owed and went stale according to South African financial law more than a few years ago. I was informed that if my farther was to pass away without having payed this debt I would become liable for it and would be black listed if I did not pay it.
Now this is both illegal and immoral. Inherited Debt was abolished world wide a very long time ago. This phone call constitutes harassment and intimidation. what kind of attorneys does standard bank employ that they resort to these tactics?
