Awaiting Insurance claim report for 2months

I was involved in an accident on December 1st 2012. My car was taken by the insurers to their facility after about 5 days to prevent unnecessary storage costs and I was told the damage amounts to more than 80% of the value therefore it's a write off. On Friday it will be exactly 2 months since my accident and I am with no vehicle nor any indication of when I can expect a response. 1st there was the excuse of it being the festive season therefore there was skeleton staff which I understood, then the person handling my case was off sick for a week or more and no one else could help. The only response I receive is that It's with the claims committee who are still reviewing it or something like that. I am without a vehicle and have been told that my claim could also be rejected. If so I am waiting for nothing. I need a response so I can know whether I am being paid out, or if I need to look for another vehicle or something
