Nedbank
Self Service fees charged on an inactive account

4 years ago (2009) I opened a Mzantsi account at Nedbank. I was told about the transactional fees that I would pay when I transact on that account. I registered for internet banking about a year later or so... and all went well until I left the account the account inactive for almost a year now with very minimal funds in it. It was only yesterday when I checked my account and realised that I had a negative balance of about -R101 or something on my account, meaning that I owed the bank, to my surprise I tried to trace the reason for this, only to realise that as of Feb 2013 I've been charged R16.00 per month for something called "self service fees"... now that's enough to drive me up the wall. Why would Nedbank all of a sudden decide to charge me for Self service banking and not even inform me of their decision when they have not been charging me that all these years. The least they could have done is to give me an option of cancelling or keeping the account if they are now introducing new fees, not to deduct money to my account to a point where I end up owing them. I'm really furious with them. I want to close that account and I want my money back.
