On 01/07/2013 I contacted the SB Home Loans call centre to have the debit order for monthly repayment of the Loan cancelled. I was told that they would only accept written instruction to this effect. I duly mailed & signed PDF with my details & instruction, to which they acknowledged receipt (Tue Jul 02 17:21:37 SAST 2013). Further correspondence from Gillian Alexander (04 July 2013 12:57 PM) indicating a1.5 day delay.
No further correspondence received & payment went off as usual. I accept this thinking the instruction may have been to late however the same happened in August causing an excess on Cheque account which incurred costs & probably affected my credit scoring. I was forced to contest the D/O & return the transaction. I again contact the call centre & requested they cancel per my instruction.
After much difficulty and further correspondence the instruction was acknowledged but they advised my debit order date would be changed to another day. I referred them back to my original instruction which was to cancel it which to date is not done.
How did it become so difficult to manage a simple instruction & when did staff become so incompetent to execute written
