ABSA phones 3/4 times a day about same issue

I am currently unemployed, and have let all my creditors know about my current situation and being unable to pay my accounts. All of the creditors have great understanding for this EXCEPT ABSA bank. They phone me each and everyday even after 8 in the evenings and recently it has become more than once a day. For the past 3 weekends they have started phoning me on Saturdays and last weekend even on a Sunday. I have to explain the SAME story over and over again as if they have never phoned me. This to me has now become harassment in the utmost degree and i am seriously considering going to the police. I have full understanding that i am in arrears with my accounts, but do they need to phone me everyday/more than once a day??? The other creditors phone maybe once a month to hear if my situation has changed which is perfectly acceptable to me. Not withstanding the fact that all my debt at ABSA was reckless lending. Not once did they ask for ANY proof of income or salary slips. Worst of all is i do not even avoid the calls, i answer immediately, but then the phone dies or is disconnected and ABSA thinks i am ignoring their calls. What must I do?
