this is just a friendly advise to all. Do NOT take a home loan by STANDARD BANK because they are ridiculously high interest. We took our loan there at 10.6% which is 2% higher than normal and was told to contact them after 6 months to a reduce the rates, they gave us this rate because we are first time buyers, then after the period we can then have lower rates. A year later I contact them. They just say no. Every one I know that are at absa or sa hoamloans is paying 8.5 or even as low as 7.7. WHY are my interest 10.6 and my wife works for the Government and this should further help with stability, AND we both have been working very long at out companies. Standard Bank is Very Bad and how can they expect any one to Pay 10.6 when even they say when you call them that the interest rate is 8.5. Can some one at Standard Bank please contact me to explain this. I am requesting document from other bond company because I am not going to stay with them if this continues.
