I need to make R50 000 EFT payment. Last week I phoned Standard Bank to temporarily increase my EAP limit so that I can make the EFT payment over the internet. This task which should be quite easy, which I have done in the past then turned out impossible. I spoke to 2 people that transferred me, got cut off once and then the 3rd time I finally spoke to someone that seemed to know what they are doing. She then advised me that they could not increase my EAP limit through the call centre to above R50 000. I had already used about R6000 of my EAP limit so I did not have enough to transfer the R50 000. I have increased my EFT limit temporarily in the past to more than this and so has my husband, I can't understand why this has now changed. To further complicate things, my Internet banking was also not working half the time last week. The bank encourages you to use self service banking but the channels don't work? Never the less I went to the branch yesterday. I stood in a Que for more than 20 minutes as the systems were slow and when I got the front the system was off. I don't have enough space for the rest.
