How can we help you? Yeah right!

For the past two months, FNB have been debuting my account with an amount described as interest on my debit amount. This amount was never before deducted until I recently went onto debt review. I called them to query this amount. They tell me they're entitled to debit my account as they wish. Upon explaining that this should have been sorted out by my debt review counsellor, it was explained to me that I'm being charged for using my account. WHAT IS THE MONTHLY ACCOUNT FEE FOR THEN? When I asked this she told be it's a service fee (ironic given the level of service), and it was then explained that the only way to avoid this charge is to close the account. So in a nutshell, FNB don't care about helping you and would rather lose you as a client than try and accommodate you. I've been a client with FNB for the last 20 years and now I'm going to have to close my account.
