2 months to get a policy cancelled

Battling for 2 months to get an ABSA homeowners insurance cancelled. Nothing is done with emails sent to the vetting department as they requested, unless you phone and hound them. Even then, promised phone calls are not made and again nothing gets done till you phone again. I receive read receipts for emails sent but when you phone, they say they never got the emails. Spent last 20 mins on the phone trying once again to get them to do their jobs but now they dont even answer telephones, What does it take to get the policy cancelled? My first request was send on 18 August to cancel from 1 September. It is now 29 October, 8 emails and 6 phone calls later and still not cancelled.
