I had two accounts with Furniture City (African Bank). In November 2012 I contacted African Bank and requested a settlement amount on both my accounts. Which I received. I then paid up both my accounts. The one was closed the other remained open because African Bank neglected to update their records and also neglected to deduct the settlement discount.
I have had countless discussions / phone calls / emails with their Legal Department - the end result is that I am now blacklisted because this has still not been resolved. Worst is that a new consultant will call me every day and although they can see the notes on their system they still ask me why my account is not paid and threatens legal action will be taken. Whenever you speak to a Supervisor they promise to resolve the matter but it never happens. Then if you call back they can't remember a thing. (But the notes is apparently on the system). I am fed up - the constant phone calls, explaining every day why my account is not paid, the legal threats. I need this sorted out. In actual fact I think African Bank owes me money if you scrutinize the accounts and look at how they charge interest. I paid them a fortune in interest.
