NO AFTER SALES SERVICE

I took out a car insurance policy, and about two months ago I sold the car and contacted them and informed them of this and was told to email a letter stating I had sold it. In the mean time I'm still being debited.
I called to explain this and request my money back. I was informed on their records the policy hadn't been stopped. i forwarded the email and they stopped the policy. I was informed it will be sorted asap, two weeks later I'm now informed that it will that up to 45 days to return my money. I find this despicable, they will take money that isn't owed to them but they take forever to get your money back.
I now have other companies that i owe and cannot pay due to this.
