Standard Bank not closing chq accs

My hubby and I had chq accs with Standard Bank when we moved to Capitec it took them nearly 6 months to close mine. When this was done we were under the impression that they were both closed and all was fine.
Now my husband has calls from lawers that my hubby has been handed over for not paying outstanding fees on this account that we thought was closed.

Hazel was the first consultant who obviously did not close the account as she should have. Marion helped us a few months ago to sort this out for hubby and she said she would call if there was anything more.

Well now the lawyers are after us and we need to get the bank to tell the lawyers what the deal is and we have called Marion at the Greenstone branch with no reply not a week later. My hsband has called and have I and I gave her his contact details and still nothing.

Standard Bank cannot do anything effectively obviously or these chq accounts would have been closed over a year ago when we moved to Capitec. If I had a way to move every item of finance I have with them I would.

Anyone who is with Standard Bank I intent to tell them no way bad idea.
