About two weeks back I started getting quotes for life cover.
Remembering that Outsurance was running their advertising campaign for life insurance, I phoned and got a comparable quote after receiving a few from other competitors.
Went through the Q&A session, and the quote came through very favourable.
Did the blood tests, etc... then received the contract - and the contract premium is literally almost double of that what was quoted!
I phoned and lodged a complaint - and was told they would go through the voice recording of the call, and get back to me.
A week ago I phoned to follow up - and it still had not been actioned, and said they would escalate.
It's now 2 weeks later since I first made them aware of the issue, and still no feedback.
It does not take 2 weeks to speed through a 15 minute recorded conversation.
The second issue (also recorded) was that the 1st premium was to take affect on the 1st of December - It's been loaded for the 1st of November 2013?
Bottom line is, you cant quote someone one figure, and then just change the figure - especially if it's a binding contract - as you have recorded.
