Well, my father moved overseas and wanted me to conduct his banking in South Africa. To be able to do this, the Standard Bank, requested, that I get a signed Power Of Attorney and fill in some forms. The bank said they needed all the original documentation. So after spending a lot of money in the UK in consultation with an Attorney, my father shipped the documentation over to me. I completed all necessary documentation and handed this in with the Power Of Attorney to the Standard Bank in Benoni.

This was in November 2013.

Trying to sort some of my fathers business out this year, I contacted the bank. They informed me that i do not have Power of Attorney on my fathers accounts, and that they cannot find the documentation I submitted. Now... I have e-mails dating back to November 2012, stating that they have the documentation in their possession...

Now they say there is nothing they can do...

What a load of rubbish... what happened to good old client service...? Because of the Standard Banks lack of accountability, my father (who is a pensioner) must suffer...
