Old Mutual loses Power of attorney

I called to changed the debit order details of my father's life policy as i have authority on the policy. to my surprise Tamara told me the authority letter had been lost on their system and i had to get a new consent to change the details. i told her I had done it before she said it was "done in error" imagine that? my bank acc has been closed due to and i want to make sure my father's policy is up to date and she tells me i have to get a new consent? when their brokers want our business they are so nice but get through the call center and you will get bad attitudes from people like Tamara and her collegues who kept telling me I have called the wrong number. It is unfortunate that I do not have the option to take my business elsewhere but rest assure I will not have my own life cover, investment with old mutual. i wonder what kind of service i will get when my passes cause i really do not feel comfortable with old mutual at all. I wonder what does power of attorney mean these days. After all the hassle I had to go through with my father by sending the power of attorney to make sure I do not make him worry about things like this.
