My cellphone started to give problems which I bought through FNB. It was collected by Cell C as it was still under guarantee. After eventually receiving the phone back I noticed it wasn't repaired. On inquiring, I was informed that it was irreparable and that the insurance will pay me out for the phone. (Nobody bothered to inform me of this)
After completing all the forms I was informed by Ruan Sales from CIB that the phone now had to be sent to Paragon for checking (I am now once again left without a phone).
The phone was collected last Monday by Paragon. On calling them on Tuesday they confirmed that the phone was irreparable and that CIB was informed of this. Since last Tuesday I have been calling CIB regularly to find out what the next step is. I was told that they have requested a settlement amount from FNB last week but has not had any feedback yet.
On calling FNB this morning, I was informed that they have never received a settlement request from CIB!! Ref # 0113823478536499.
It is now almost two months and I don't have a phone (not even the broken one) and I still have an account at FNB for the device, despite paying for insurance
