ACCOUNT VERIFICATION

I called the call centre this morning to do a reversal of 2 debit orders that had gone off of my account. The call centre tried to verify my account, but i did not have my other card on me. When i asked if this is the only method of verifying my account - by punching in the last 4 digits of your card & your pin- they said yes and that if i don't have the card on me - there's nothing more they can do. But my question however is - what happens if someone has my purse, with my ID etc, and is trying to access my account like this - is this the ONLY verification process that this bank has!!! why not use another method? please get back to me to assist me ASAP! i want this resolved
