Over the past weeks I had 4 debit orders run on my Fnb account. At first I didn't take notice of them as I mistook them for my usual debit orders. This week when another 2 debit orders ran I began to question them.
I went to the Three Rivers Fnb branch where I spend 3 hours just to reverse the money back into my account and be told that the bank is not liable for this unfortunate insistent. I was given a phone number which apparently belonged to the company that's debiting my account.
After the service I got from the bank I'm left to wonder if my money is really SAFE at Fnb seeing as they are allowing any company to access funds in my account without even verifying with me that indeed I do have a contract or agreement with this particular company.
I thought the bank offered security to one's personal funds but I'm shocked as they say they are not liable but yet for all those transactions there was bank charges for them even to do the reversal.
If FNB is not liable THEN who is?
Why did FNB not verify those debit orders with me before processing them?
Doesn't FNB offer Security of funds as one of their services?
At this point I want to close the account cause it not safe
