Smith & Smith Accoutants did my BEE certificate for me last year. I received an email from them a week or 2 ago, saying that it was up for renewal and I was to pay R800 as well as provide a letter from my accountant confirming that our company did not earn more than 5Mlilion rand per annum. In good faith, I paid them the money and requested the letter from my accountant. He repled with the actual certificate renewal - as I had no idea he was able to issue me with this item. As I now have the renewed certificate, I asked Smith & Smith to please refund my money... they said no, it is not their policy!! I am absolutely finished that they think its ok to just keep my money when they have not provided me with the service and nor will they... This is illegal and I will be taking it further to recover my money. I just want to warn other innocent consumers out there who may be prompt payers like I am... to becareful of this company. This is NOT ethical or legal!
