I recently sold my house and closed by Bond with FNB. I lodged the following complaint:
FNB has no right to debit my account WITH A FULL DEBIT ORDER PLUS THE ACTUAL INTEREST AFTER settlement of the Home Loan.
05/09/2013 R7, 365.51 Debit Order
20/09/2013 R702, 853.61 Attorney pays settlement figure - stipulated by bank, including early settlement penalty figure;
This creates R35, 090.19 positive balance in my account - NO INTEREST ACCRUED
? /09/2013 R2, 676.62 Debited to account
25/09/2013 R25, 048.07 Paid to Current Account and Loan Account closed
When I queried this FNB stated the following:
R2007.47 Interest 05/09/2013 and 20/09/2013 - agreed.
R669.15 Further for early cancelation fee - WHY? FNB has ALREADY taken this fee!
R7, 365.51 FURTHER DEBIT ORDER TAKEN FOR 40 DAYS! WHY? THEY HAVE ALREADY DEDUCTED THE INTEREST AND THEY ARE NOT ENTITLED TO THIS MONEY.
The email string included 'LOL' and they want me to sign a 'form' for early release of MY MONEY!
DO THE MATH R7000x say 100loan/day= R700, 000/day money not theirs!
