Lost my money

I recently went into an FNB branch to find out what the amount is that I owe on my personal loan account. I then withdrew the cash for this settlement amount and paid it into the account number which they gave me (at an FNB bank).

I now discovered that the amount paid has not reflected on my account, and I still "owe" the money which I paid, plus interest. In addition, the monthly debit order of a few thousand Rand will also be deducted - even though I have already settled the loan amount. After calling FNB, there is apparently nothing they can do until the money has been found.

Please explain to me how it possible for FNB to "lose" my money? I have triple checked the account number and settlement amount and all was done correctly. I now have to find the proof of payment that I made and email to FNB, where they will then investigate. As a young individual early in my career I do no have an extra few thousand Rand to pay and then claim back at a later stage.

This is utterly unacceptable from FNB, I am extremely disappointed in the incompetency and expect something to be done about this asap.
