THANKS TO AFRICAN BANK I GO SHOPPING! (sic)

It obviously not in their best interests to get payment for overdue accounts. My husband has a furniture city account that has been overdue due to being unemployed. After informing the store that he is unemployed, we were informed that he had no insurance to cover him not being able to make payments due to unemployment. I was further advised that considering I am working, then I should basically pay the account! Anyways, the account went further into arrears and once he started working, we went back into the store and was then advised that he did have insurance after all but we cant now use it because he is now working nor will it be credited because its our fault for not informing them!
I now make contact with the collections department to request for a settlement as I want to settle the account and considering my husband doesnot have access to the telephone, I make the call on his behalf and I am refused assistance even after verifying his details and advising that I can arrange to SETTLE the outstanding account on their books by close of business today. They can apparently do nothing. they cant call him directly nor can they email him a settlement letter. So I wont pay... ever!
