As a client with Private Banking, I am appalled at how FNB approved an overdraft facility for me, made me sign all the required forms etc and then when I started to use it, unilaterally withdrew the facility. This overdraft facility was suggested by my private banker, who had full disclosure of why I needed it etc. Suddenly, when I needed it most, the overdraft was suspended. To add insult to injury I was sent helter skelter to 4 different FNB branches to sign a form to pledge my savings to cover this overdraft. The incompetence and unprofessionalism is staggering. How does a Bank treat its client with such disrespect. As i write this in a dotFNB branch in downtown Johannesburg, this matter is still unresolved. The staff here have no clue why I was sent to them and are doing all they can to learn what the Bank's procedures are. I want an aoology, and an explanation ASAP or I will take my business elsewhere and move my organisations accounts as well. If FNB Private Banking is this bad, I feel for "normal" people.
