Settlement not updated with ITC

I had a Vehicle Asset Finance through STANDARDBANK. On 9 July 2013 I requested a settlement quote (R22 989, 62) and on the 15 July I settled the account, but to my shock surprise I learnt this morning that I was still owing the bank (R25 057.00).
I was applying for a Bond finance and I was declined due to this negligence from Standardbank.
I feel that STD bank did not do enough to ensure that they update my account with ITC, and I was hoping to receive a Letter of courtesy thanking me and confirming the settlement after having informed them that I have settled my account.
Very poor and pathetic service STANDARDBANK!
