I opened a new FNB account and used their Debit Order Switching option to move my debit orders across. The process has been painless - except for with Old Mutual. Old Mutual confirmed the switch and that it would take effect on the 1st of October - and then debited the old account. I went onto their Online Facilty to update the information myself - but this just sends a request to them that they need to process (in their own time).
Updating the details online should be instant and easy. Why should I keep my old account open for months and pay the admin fees each month because Old Mutual are incompetent?
