Good day, I, Jeanine Nel, (J.W.) had a student loan from Standard Bank. In 2010, my parents went through a bad financial time. We fell behind with the installments and as a result I had a bad history with them.
In 2011, I started to work and made an agreement with their attorneys to pay off the loan. On the 30/08/2011 I settled the whole amount I still owed. (R16 146.00). I did not have any access to any financial facilities since then. I corresponded with them, but still today - 06/10/2014, I can not even have a cell phone contract. It had a long term effect on my credit status.
