As said in the headline, I do not have a major complaint with Standard Bank. I have a credit card account with them, and the service has been very good so far.
I wanted to move my cheque account over to Standard Bank so as to consolidate my accounts, and went in this morning to apply for it. However, they cannot offer me an overdraft facility (which I have with my current bank) and this is rather crucial. Reason being, with debit orders flying all over the place, any time of the month that the cellphone company or multichoice or other decided to run them, when they get rejected, it cost me in banking fees, as well as a black mark on my credit record.
For now I am fine, I will continue with my current bank... maybe just something to keep in mind for the future
