Excess of R950 for a windscreen lose my OUTbonus

I recently claimed for a cracked windscreen. It was handled very well, however, I am not happy with the way the policy was signed up in the first place. My car is insured with Outsurance for almost 1 and a half year. I have had policies with Outsurance prior to this. I have viewed my policy schedule to confirm that the excess is R950 for a windscreen. Upon being reminded of this when I claimed, I asked to speak to someone to have this changed. What I'm upset about is why this was not given to me as an option before I asked for it? My premium increased by a couple of rands to lower my excess to R250 - WHY WASN'T THIS AN OPTION BEFORE??

Secondly, why is it that a windscreen claim affects my Outbonus? With other companies who offer claim-free bonuses, windscreens are not taken into consideration for bonuses. Strange to hear this from a company who uses the Outbonus as a selling point. Never-the-less, my new cycle starts again now after going half of the way to my Outbonus - JUST FOR A WINDSCREEN!!!
