First National Bank
Financial implications on me

On Friday 27 Sept around 10h00 I made a monthly payment of R4300 into my loan account. I then transferred R6000 into my cheque account, immediately R4300 was deducted from the loans account again. I contacted my premium bank right away to alert him as to what had happened. He contacted the loans department and came back to me with the feedback that stated: the loans department would try and reverse the money today (Friday) or worst case scenario would be in 48 hours time. I explained that my concern was that debit orders would start going through and that they would not be funds available. The banker called them back to explain that to him and he stated he spoke to a Nokuthula. Monday morning checking on my account I realised that no action had been performed and I called the banker again. Feedback was that 48 working days. Today the debit orders have gone through and some have bounced. This obviously has financial implications on me from the same FNB that is in possession of my money. Today's feedback is 3-5 working days. 1) why such inconsistent feedback and why 5 days. 2) It is really unfair that you keep my money and I must pay YOUR penalties for money that is in your possession
