First National Bank
FLEXI BOND NO LONGER

We applied for a flexi bond in March 2011 at FNB when we bought our home. It was approved and we signed the contract at FNB. Me and my husband can remember that we asked the lawyer to confirm if this is a flexi bond and it was confirmed. We rest assured that we signed for a flexi bond. At the end of last year, round about the end of October and we requested FNB to inform us of the amount available on the flexi bond and they told us there is about R36 000 available. We phoned again in January, this time to request that these funds be released to us. But we were told that we do not have a flexi bond and that we need to apply for it and it will not be backdated! Funny how such a thing can just disappear in a matter of two months. The assistant Daphne Letsholo was not willing to investigate the matter and merely told us if we want it we need to apply from scratch. When we send her a email and told her that we will then rather move our home loan to SA home loans, she responded as follows: Thank you for the e-mail. Surely FNB must have a copy of our signed contract on file?
