While going through some of my statements, I noticed several payments into my account which simply said CREDIT TRANSFER (my account number) followed by anther set of four numbers. I phoned the customer help to find out where these payments were coming from, and was told that they know no more about it than is on my statement, and if I want to find out where they come from I need to ask for an investigation, at a cost of R20 for each investigation.
I said this is unacceptable - unless they can give me a really good reason, I cannot see why I have to pay to find out information that should be reflected on my statement in the first place.
Not only do I strongly object to Standard Bank withholding information unless I pay them, but I have phoned twice now requesting to speak to a supervisor, and twice have been told that one will phone me back - and no one has bothered to contact me.
