In the beginning of August 2013, I called Standard bank credit card division to enquire about the balance on my credit card. I spoke to a lady who gave me my balance (R8086.62) and my minimun payment (R808.62) but she neglected to inform me that I needed to make that payment before a particular date. I then made two payments each of R1500.00 one in August and the other in September, then I called again to check the progress of my account, now I was told that my account was handed over to DMC.I subsequently called DMC and got no joy whatsoever, I was sent from pillar to post then I was told that my balance had miraculously gone up to R12000.00 after making two payments towards my account. Eventually, I was sent back to Standard bank to get statements to prove that I had indeed made the payments. I got the statements and I'm willing to continue making payments, but I'm not going pay that R12000.00 I was told about about when I called DMC because the recent statement I have reflects that I now owe R5086.62.Can someone sort this matter out and contact me because I feel it is unfair for Standard bank to penalise me for the incompetence of its employees.
