I changed an address of an old lady for whom I am Power of Attorney at ABSA yesterday, armed with my ID
and Proof of Address, the process took 5 minutes from the time I entered the bank to the time i left.
I went up the road to FNB to do the same, armed with the same documents.
I queued for 35 minutes and was with the consultant for another 40 minutes.
When i queried the time discrepancy with the Service person, she said That their security measures were better than ABSA's. A ridiculous response, as the same documents were required - THE PROCESS for entering the data was 9 times longer. The queue is just plain disrespectul to customers - Cutting heads at the expense of service.
This came after a very bad experience when I had spent 3 hours on the Call Centre trying to fix and online Fixed Deposit due date instruction. The online system did not allow me to amend.
