I am a proud employee of Standard Bank, and am happy with their services, bar for the shocking experience I have recently had with the Home Loans Accounts department.
I purchased my property in July of last year (2012). As discussed and agreed I was told that my home loan repayments would be deducted from my salary before any funds were transferred into my account. Following the signing of my bond documentation I did not receive any communication such as transfer papers or event account statements from Home Loans.
Shockingly 2 days ago, which is a year and 3 months after my agreement was signed, I was notified that no payments had been made and my account has been handed over to a legal firm for collection.
I subsequently had to liaise with various representatives from the pre-legal team at Standard Bank Home loans, with only one very helpful individual (Jerry Ngubane) promising to assist with the rehabilitation of my account.
The reasons why I am so discontent Standard Bank Home Loans is:
1) Failure to send me notification of Property transfer/registration
2) Failure to send me account statements as agreed
3) Waiting 15 Months to notify me that payment (s) had not been made.
