Not happy with Absa

On 16 September I phoned the Absa call center and explained to a consultant that I would not be able to make a payment on my vehicle this month as I have been retrenched in June. I am still unemployed and does not receive any income at the moment. She asked if my account was in arrears because the bank can not arrange anything if the account is not in arrears. She suggested I use my pension pay out but I explained to her that i was working as a contractor and therefore did not qualify for pension. She then said that Absa can not arrange that the account to be put on hold for a short period but I can arrange to pay 50% of the installment instead. I have sent an E mail to Absa head office and they replied that a consultant will contact me shortly but I am still waiting for a response. My point is that I do not have any money at the moment and I am willing to continue with payment as soon as I am employed again. Surely the bank can help me out as I have been a client of Absa for nearly 25 years. I have never skipped an installment or made a late payment on my vehicle in almost 3 years and this is the "service" I receive. I will close all my accounts and move to FNB.!!
