I made a restructuring arrangement with Absa Vehicle Finance from April 2012 for my account (80882233). The agreement was that I would pay half the installment for six months, which I did without fail. I asked to extend the arrangement to December 2012 and the bank agreed. They told me that from January 2012 I would start paying my normal installment after which the outstanding amount would be capitalized? I started getting calls from Marinus who claimed the bank had sent him to repossess the car because of the arrears. I explained to him and he said it was an internal error which would be rectified. From the start the bank told me that the arrangement would only affect my credit rating with Absa but now I am blacklisted as being in arrears for 120 days. I never missed a single payment. I have lost job offers because of the listing. Please kindly ask Absa to issue a letter clarifying that my account is not in arrears.
