Card - Told Unable To Assist

I am currently on an extended stay in Sinai and realised today that I was once again (second time with ABSA in just over a year!) the victim of card. Someone has been using my Priorty Pass card 5 times the last two months and the charges were showing up in my account despite the fact that I haven't left Egypt in all this time and the card has not left my possession. I called the Stop Card number and the card was stopped but beyond that ABSA said that there was nothing they could do unless I was physically in an ABSA branch (reference of call: 16222) and they basically wrote me off saying that there is nothing more they could do.

I was told to visit Barkleys in Cairo but I explained that this was not possible as Egypt is in a state of national emergency due to the political unrest, primarily in Cairo (hundreds dead, riots etc) and that I wont be in SA for at least a few more months. After this I was given the number to the Barkleys in Cairo and the operator simply hung up on me.

Pathetic service yet again despite the fact that I'm a Platinum member... absolutely worthless.
