Mu husband has been a stardbnker for over a decade. This year we decided we want to get a house and did an application through Standard Bank as my hisband has been banking with them for over a decade now and we went to get advise from a standard bank branch just assess how much we could qualify for before we got our hopes up and also knowing about their jum start campain and us being first time buyers really thought they could help.

In march we did the process and the final outcome was 90% grant and and the agent could not understand why because our scorings were quite hight, mine being 820 and my husband 813 (more or less but definately above 800). Sadly we had to forget about our dream home.

we decided to try again and got feeback now in september that standard bank still granted us 90% and from this we've heard different stories from credit scoring to... i dont know what because I was just too disheartned.

Now I've been wondering if the bank we have banked with for so many years cant help us and other banks say they cant assist further than 90% because we dont bank with them, where are we supposed to get a 100%. this is really sad becasue our rent almost R7000 a month
