I got a call from a lawyer to say that I had been granted a new Standard bank bond I HAD NEVER applied for. This was not possible as the last time I had a bond granted with Standard bank was over a year ago. The new bond granted also has a different account number and amount to my original. I phoned Standard bank call centre and department to try and warn them but noone showed no urgency. They told me that I had to visit the branch. I am so shocked by this. The bank is about to lose money to and they tell me to visit the branch. If this bond gets granted, I will never ever pay it. I would have expected Standard bank to be thankful that I notified them and then to try and get to the bottom of this issue but alas...
