Consistent Bad Service

You have to credit the Old Mutual. They seldom fail to disappoint and simply cannot execute an instruction.

On December 10th they were sent two written instructions to effect on policy 14081638 (And when it comes to 'in writing' they sure produce some pretty substantial documents ) :

Increase debit with effect from January 1st & re-shuffle the investment (switch).

Neither was done as instructed. Their explanation reads like Alice In Wonderland and flows from the mouth of one of their 'Service Professionals' (sic) :

Before they could adjust the debit they tell me they had to effect the switch. They diarised the switch but never did it. (Then I assume they all went off on Christmas lunch and thereafter on leave). Miraculously they have set up the revised debit for February 1st despite having been instructed in writing to initiate from January 1st. (So what happened to the 'no revised debit order before completion of switch rule?) Hmmmmm.

And they actually tell you all of this with a straight face against a background din which sounds like a frat party.

Small wonder younger people avoid these dinosaurs like the plague.
