Standard Bank - moving you forward or not?

Switched from ABSA to Standard bank, about a year ago. Wondering if this was a good discision. Yesterday evening my card was swallowed by the ATM again - second time in two months. I know for a fact that the card was not damaged, neither was the wrong pin enterred. Upon further investigation, I was told by staff at the local fast food outlet next to the ATM, that this actually happens frequently at this spefic ATM. I now have to wait again between 5 to 7 working days for a new card from H/O? Then have to arrange for leave from work, drive all the way to Standard Bank, to obtain my new card. How does this "move me forward"? Secondly, who's paying what for your defective ATM's Standard Bank?
