I decided to go online to have a look at my Discovery Statement, only to find my account suspended. I called the custoner service hotline and was transferred to collection because apperantely my account was handed over to legal. Shocked, I asked Lindiwe why because as far as I know every month my payments are debited. Lindiwe explained that I only paid R60 as opposed to the total of R195.I corrected her by saying that Discovery debited R60 instead of the the full amount and then handed me over to legal without my knowledge. She then responded that "BEING HANDED OVER TO LEGAL IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD IT SIMPLY MEANS THAT A JUDGEMENT WAS GIVEN." Like seriously, is that something that the employees at Discovery Card take lightly? Having a judgement against their names? I mean first suspend my account, which is an embarrassment on its own, and then tell me it is not the end of the world. It could've been a decline at a store. With everyone looking! Or maybe a job rejection. Calmly, I asked her what was the Credit Voucher I see on my statement. #Lightbulb# Then she explains that I received R135 back. I told her that might be the reason only R60 was debited. Yes... apology? No.
