I logged a call dd 8/8/2013 @ 14.29, Regarding water damage in a bedroom, I was told that my excess was a R 1000.00 as I have a penalty due to claims two years ago!! I told to just come and determine where the water damaged came from, as my roof is well maintained due to the previous claims, I told her that I THINK the damage is due to a pipe leak in my bathroom/ or the roof? The whole bedroom carpet and wall has got water damage and I am no expert as to what causes the damage. She told me a plumber will be sent to my home. I have received a sms ONLY DD 15/8/13 @15.03 With claim no 13/055776, then right afer sms with the no of the contractor TJS Maintenance. Since then someone only came out to take pictures!! I HAD TO PHONE STANDARD BANK INSURANCE TO ASK WHAT IS GOING ON AND HUGE WAS THE SURPRISE AS THEY TOLD ME THAT MY EXCESS NOW IS 2X R750!!! THEY DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AS THE FIRST LADY THAT I SPOKE TO TOLD ME SHE WILL SENT A PLUMBER AND UNTIL TODAY ZERO! IN THE MEANTIME THE DAMAGED GETS MORE AS THE CARPET STINKS AND THE WHOLE ROOM SMELL OF DAMP!!! HOW CAN THE KEEP ON RAISING MY EXCESS? THAT IS NOT FAIR! SO WISH I CAN CHANGE MY STB INSURANCE!!!
