Nedbank
Fineprint Trapping

My debit card got cloned (at a ATM) towards the end of October 2012. Three days later I realised it when I noticed large amounts of money was withdrawn from my account. I immediatly contacted the bank and stopped the card. I also then got a case number from the SAPS, took it to Nedbank and filled in endless forms to claim a re-payment. Three months later, 22 January 2013 I heard from Nedbank that they declined my claim on the following grounds: a) I did not have E Notification - did not know it was apparantly a pre-requisite and b) I took three days before I stopped the card - as if all clients check their card 3 times a day. Nedbank bluntly refused to discuss the matter and referred me to the Ombudsman - but at the same time dont want to give me a copy of their refusal which means the Ombudsman will not accept my documents if there is no copy from the bank. Nedbank kindly put me in a catch 22 situation and left me high and dry without my money. I might just add that I am a long standing client at Nedbank, but this episode surely left abitter taste in my mouth.
