CAPITEC TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR CARD SKIMMING

I was very upset to hear that one of the cleaning staff in our building had her full salary skimmed from her account on 31 July. She is 20 years old and is the only income earner in her home. R1, 800 was .. Sindi advised Capitec and was told to open as case with the police. She got a case number and then waited to hear back. Warrant officeer EJ Laubscher attended to the case and came back to tell her that there was nothing she could do and was a victim of card skimming. She'd never heard of this and has her card in her possession. I would have though Capitec were insured for this type of? Why use a bank that doesn't protect you? How does she know this won't happen at the end of August too. No one cared enough to call and talk to her and explain what happened, how they can help and how she can avoid this happening again. the poor young girl was devastated and was still shaking and in tears when I brought it up with her this morning. I said I would do whatever I could to help her as she feels helpless. I noticed when scrolling through Hello Peter that other card skimming victims were reimbursed. What is the story? Please help.
