False advertising

I became a member of Stratum based on the information that I received from a Stratum brochure. The only exclusions stated on the received brochure was that there is a general waiting period of 3 months and that certain conditions will be excluded for a 12 month period. Nothing on the brochure makes mention of any further exclusions. There is also no mention of any terms and conditions on the brochure.

I phoned Stratum to enquire if a medical event would be covered only to find that the policy document - which I still have not received - states that no procedure for which the medical aid pays from a savings account will be covered. The policy document is only received once you are a member.

This is like viewing a car on the showroom, buying it and once the dealer has your money in hand he inform you that the car does not have an engine or gearbox.
